I love diving the deeper local sites and exploring the underwater caves in Mexico and Florida. Dive experience includes the Puget Sound, Oregon & California Coasts, Hawaii, Okinawa, Tahiti, Venezuela, Honduras, the Bahamas, Florida's wrecks & caves, and the caves in Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula.

Certifications:

NAUI Technical Instructor, NAUI Instructor Trainer, IANTD Trimix, IANTD Technical Cave, IANTD CCR – Inspiration, TDI Advanced Trimix, TDI CCR – Inspiration, NAUI Mixed Gas Blender & O2 Service Technician, Atomic Regulator Technician, PADI Divemaster, PADI Ice Diver, PSI Visual Cylinder Inspector.

Summary:

I first learned to scuba dive at legendary (and historical) Scuba Toys and I haven’t completely offgassed ever since.  This lifestyle has taken me to places like flooded caves in Yucatan Peninsula and frozen lakes of Minnesota.  When I’m not submerged, you can find me playing ice hockey, riding my hog, or sleeping.

Certifications:

NAUI Technical Instructor, NAUI Instructor Trainer, IANTD Trimix, IANTD Technical Cave, TDI Advanced Trimix, NAUI Mixed Gas Blender & O2 Service Technician.

Summary:

First certified in 1974 at the local YMCA, I've made dives in a variety of conditions but it's deep wrecks and caves that does it for me.  I'm grateful for the advent of technical diving - it's definitely added a high degree of excitement to my diving.  The caves in Mexico and Grand Cayman are some of my favorite travel destinations.  When I’m not diving you can find me eating or doing absolutely nothing.

Certifications:

PADI Technical Divemaster, NSS-CDS Full Cave Diver, IANTD Cave DPV, NACD Cave Stage, NAUI Trimix II, Evolution CCR Mixed Gas Diver, Trimix Gas Blender and Oxygen Service Technician, PSI Cylinder Inspector.  Milestones: NACD Wakulla Bronze Award, NSS-CDS Abe Davis Safe Cave Diving Award.

Summary:

I was first interested in diving as a kid watching Johnny Quest. Growing up at the beach, I got a job at my LDS and was certified before I could drive. It was not until being denied a 90' dive in Florida due my Open Water Certification that I decided to further my diving credentials. Once I started, it has been continuous training ever since. The only thing that limits my diving now is the money in my pockets. If I were independently wealthy, I would be on expedition year round. When needed, I assist the SCTD Team as a safety and support diver.

Chris Gini - Technical Diver

Chris

Certifications:

PADI Dive Master, PADI Dolphin/Atlantis Re breather Diver, TDI Advanced Nitrox Diver, TDI Decompression Procedures Diver, IANTD Deep Diver, IANTD Advanced EANx Diver, IANTD Technical Diver, IANTD Trimix Diver, Trimix Gas Blender, NSS-CDS/NACD Cave Diver, IANTD Advanced Cave Stage Diver, IANTD Advanced Cave DPV Diver, IANTD Advanced Cave Side Mount Diver, Cave Surveying Techniques Training.

Summary:

I was first certified to dive over 20 years ago in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. After a few years of high altitude diving in Nevada and Northern California, I moved to Hermosa Beach where I continued to shore and boat dive up and down the California and Baja Coast. I also spent as much time as possible in the Caribbean and other places, including US and British Virgin Islands, Mexico, Honduras, Belize, Bahamas, Turks and Caicos, Caymans, Hawaii and Papua New Guinea. Eventually I started technical diving to progress and increase my skills. I now spend as much time as possible technical and cave diving in California, Florida and the Yucatan in Mexico. My interests are mainly underwater exploration, survey, and mapping.

Andrew Ainslie - Technical Diver

Andrew

Certifications:

PADI Divemaster, NAUI Trimix II, NSS-CDS Full Cave (Sidemount/Stage/DPV), NAUI Trimix Blender and Oxygen Service Technician.

Summary:

I first learned to dive freediving for lobster and abalone in Cape Town when at college. Two years ago, I started looking to increase my scuba skills by taking increasingly advanced courses. The bug bit, and now my back yard has as much equipment as some dive shops. When needed, I help mix gases for the SCTD team for deeper dives and for decompression.

Certifications:
NSS-CDS Full Cave Diver, NACD Stage Diver, NACD DPV Cave, NAUI Trimix II, PADI Divemaster, EFR Instructor. NACD Wakulla Bronze Award, NSS-CDS Abe Davis Safe Cave Diving Award.

Summary:
Growing up in Southern California I spent most of my time at the beach but didn't take up SCUBA diving until after graduate school.  I was immediately attracted to wreck diving and visited historic shipwrecks in the Great Lakes and St Lawrence Seaway as well as WWII wrecks off the coast of North Carolina, Micronesia, and Florida.  I went to Ginnie Springs to learn cave diving to hone my skills and have since developed a passion for diving the wet rocks in Florida and Mexico.
